National Social Media Team
The National Social Media Team is made up of members from across Canada. The social media team's purpose is to support the marketing and communication goals set out by National.
Members of the team are appointed annually by the Deputy National Commissioner - Marketing and Communications for a maximum of three years.
The National Social Media Team began as a function of three independent Rovers from across Canada. As their efforts brought together the online presence of Scouts Canada on social media networks, so to did they connect. In April of 2011, Andrew Wallwork, Brandon Scott, and Mike Stewart began to form the basis for what would ultimately develop into the team now in place. An important contributor to founding the social media team was John Petitti, the Executive Director of Marketing & Communications. John played an important role in ensuring the success of the team. The social media team grew with the size of the community and is now plays a vital role in sharing Scouts Canada's presence on social media networks.
Throughout the years, the team has had various individuals both join and lead the team. In 2015 under the leadership of the DNC of MarCom, the team saw a complete overhaul in compliance with the regular appointment process.
