Welcome to Scouting Week takes place at the beginning of each Scouting year. It is a great opportunity to meet with parents and get them involved in their child's Scouting experience; to make them aware of our expectations of our Scouters, of the policies and procedures that guide their interaction with youth and of the roles that parents can play in creating a solid Scouting year.

The Canadian Path Scouts Canada's Program Team has prepared a guide that will help you plan and deliver a comprehensive orientation meeting with parents welcoming them to the Scouting movement. Whether a child is new to Scouting or returning for another year of adventure, Parents who participate will gain a better understanding of how Scouts Canada delivers on its mission and how they can get involved and support another year of great, safe Scouting adventures.

Welcome to Scouting Week was introduced in July of 2014 stemming from ideas generated at our National Leadership Summit in February of 2014. During the Summit, Scouters from across Canada participated in a series of workshops to generate ideas for getting more parents involved in weekly programs.
