Scouts Canada is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which uses the Scout Method in delivering age appropriate, non-formal educational programs for young people ages 5-26. This is accomplished by using:

  • The Scout Law and Promise
  • Learning by doing
  • The Team System (or Patrol System)
  • A symbolic framework
  • Nature
  • Personal Progression
  • Adult Support

For a definitive explanation of the Scout Method, see The Scout Method (produced by the World Organization of the Scout Movement).
